With writers from the Atlantic Magazine in town visiting local startup hotspots, it’s no wonder they went to TechArb, the University of Michigan’s startup incubator.
Senior editor Alexis Madrigal writes that he was impressed by the students' enthusiasm and entrepreneurial spirit.

The accelerator is just a small part of the university’s emphasis on entrepreneurship that focuses on encouraging everyone from students to faculty to think about how they can bring their ideas to real world markets.
U-M has not only started TechArb for students who want to learn to create businesses, it has also launched student-managed venture capital funds for those who want to be on the other side of the table. These efforts, along with the Office of Technology Transfer that helps faculty turn their research into marketable products, have helped to cultivate the enthusiasm for startup culture that Madrigal found so enticing.
